What is a Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, or a nose job, is a plastic surgery procedure that changes the size or shape of the nose to address aesthetic or functional goals. A nose job can target any of the nasal elements, which consist of the upper bone area, the lower cartilage area, and the skin. There are various types of rhinoplasty procedures as indicated below:
- Functional: This type of rhinoplasty focuses on enhancing nasal breathing by restoring a deviated septum and easing the nasal breathing pathways.
- Revisional: As the name implies, this rhinoplasty is performed to improve upon a previous rhinoplasty that went wrong. It is a complicated surgery, as the nasal elements may have been compromised by a previous surgery, making it more vulnerable.
- Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty: Non-surgical, or liquid rhinoplasty, is a non-invasive technique to alter the size and shape of the nose using dermal filler injections. As expected, this is a quick result and low-downtime rhinoplasty.
