Secondly, the septa bands are released when cut with the Avéli device’s tiny blade. This release allows the skin to smooth out. Lastly, the release is monitored in real time to ensure the band is properly released and that the skin appears smoother.

What to Expect on the Day of an Avéli Treatment

On the day of your Avéli treatment at our office in the Virginia Beach and Newport News area, you can expect a relatively easy, manageable day. Before the procedure begins, your cellulite dimples will be marked with a medical-grade skin marker while you stand and flex the muscles of the targeted area so that the areas can be pinpointed. We always use a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area, so you do not feel pain when the Avéli device enters your skin and releases the bands. You will be awake but comfortable.

Next, the Avéli device will be inserted just under your skin through tiny incisions, and your plastic surgeon will perform the procedure by releasing the septa. The procedure will last about an hour.

The incisions will be closed, and you’ll be wrapped in compression garments. You may experience mild bruising, swelling, tenderness, and soreness for a few days.

Your skin will be noticeably smoother, but the full results will gradually be completed over a few weeks to months.

Avéli Treatment Recovery

Avéli treatment recovery is minimal and manageable. You may return to light activities within a few days, but you should not participate in strenuous exercise for at least 1-2 weeks. Go on light walks to stimulate circulation and ease the swelling, bruising, soreness, and tenderness. Wear the compression garments provided and follow any specific instructions given to you after your session.
