Eyelid surgery is generally performed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation at The Carney Center.
Dr. Carney employs an endoscopic forehead technique, which minimizes incisions and yields less bruising, swelling, and a quicker recovery time compared to traditional methods. Depending upon the extent of the surgery, the procedure takes between one and two hours. If all four eyelids are combined with the forehead lift, the procedure will take approximately two hours.
Eyelid surgery without complications typically takes between one and three hours, depending on the procedure’s complexity and the individual patient’s specific needs.
