What is a Capsulectomy?
A capsulectomy is a surgical procedure that removes the scar tissue capsule that naturally forms around a breast implant. This is often performed when the capsule becomes hardened, painful, or affects the appearance of the breast, a condition known as capsular contracture.
There are different types of capsulectomy procedures, including total, partial, and en bloc capsulectomy. The right method depends on your unique anatomy, symptoms, and surgical goals. During your consultation at The Carney Center, we’ll determine the safest and most effective technique for your needs.
