After Dr. Carney performs your Buttock Augmentation surgery, most patients experience some swelling, soreness, or pain that can be controlled with oral medication. Patients may be required to avoid sitting for several days to a week, depending on the extent of surgery. A compression garment must be worn for 2 – 4 weeks to reduce swelling. Cold compresses can be used to reduce swelling and alleviate further discomfort. Patients may return to work in a few days or in up to two weeks, depending on the type of their employment and the extent of the surgery. After approximately four weeks, patients feel back to normal and may resume exercise.
